Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, full year, on-site core hours 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday (weekends and evenings required on standby and call out rota)

 We are seeking a friendly, proactive, and technically capable IT Support Specialist to join our IT team at Marlborough College. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a busy support environment, and is passionate about improving IT skills and systems across a school community.

 

Reporting to the Security and Systems Engineer and the Helpdesk and Systems Engineer, you will provide first-line support for staff and pupils, ensuring excellent service and swift resolution of technical issues. You will also play a key role in user training, helping to improve digital literacy and confidence with systems such as Microsoft 365 and the College’s core platforms.

 

This varied role is perfect for someone looking to develop a career in IT support and education technology, offering exposure to a wide range of systems and projects in a collaborative team environment.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Hands-on experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and end-user training

 

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory

 

  • A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn

 

  • A relevant IT qualification (e.g. CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified) is desirable
